Trusting God Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your Word says to lean not on my own understanding, and I know I am always leaning on something. Even my doubts, I lean on them. You are asking me to put my full weight on You, not on my own thinking. I have not done that. I keep my own plans close by, just in case You cannot be trusted. That is not honest. Either You are in charge, or I am. I cannot keep both seats warm. Move me. The chair was always Yours. Sit me down in it and take away the spare seat I keep for an emergency. Trusting You is not blindness. It is the right thing to do because You have never failed me.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
