Trust Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I am afraid. I do not wait for the fear to go away before I trust You. I trust You right inside the fear. That is not the easy kind of trust I learned as a child. It is harder and more real. I am putting my weight on You. Not because I feel safe. But because putting my weight on my own plans has not held me. So I am here. The fear is here. And I am leaning on You. Hold the lean. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
