Theme

Sacrifice Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your word says that after Christ offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at Your right hand. The Old Testament priests stood day after day because their work was never finished. But Jesus sat down because His work was done. Too often I live like a priest who can never sit—still, trying to pay for my sins by my own effort. Help me remember that the sacrifice is complete. My obedience is not payment but a grateful answer to what You have already finished. Let me rest long enough to feel that the work is really done, and walk away free. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
