Living Water Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You told the woman at the well that whoever drinks the water You give will never be thirsty again. You said it would become a spring inside, welling up to eternal life. That picture stays with me. Not just water I drink once, but a spring that keeps flowing, with You as the source.
Father, my soul has been thirsty more than it should. I have good teaching, good books, and good people around me. Still, the thirst remains. You said the answer is not more things outside me, but a spring rising up from within, sourced in You.
Open that spring in me. The water is Yours to give. Let me drink from You today, and let the well rise up inside me by tomorrow.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
