Eternal Life Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Jesus said eternal life is knowing You, the only true God, and Him You sent. That stops me. Eternal life is not first about how long I live. It is about knowing You. Living forever just comes from knowing You forever. Knowing You is not the same as knowing about You. Knowing You takes being with You. It takes talking with You. It takes time. Start in me the kind of knowing that will last forever. The prayer I pray today, the quiet I give today, the time with You today — this is not apart from eternal life. It is the first part of it.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
