Encouragement Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, 1 Thessalonians 5:11 — encourage one another and build one another up, just as You are doing.
Father, Paul told the Thessalonians to keep doing what they were already doing. He did not start over. He started with what was already good.
Make me like that. Make me someone who notices what others are doing right and says so. Not to flatter. Not to get something. Just to build Your people up.
The friend who is barely holding together this month needs one true sentence about what she is doing well. The colleague whose work no one sees needs a word from someone who bothered to look.
Send me to deliver one of those today.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
