Birthday Blessings Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped theme prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, another year. Psalm 90:12 says, “Teach us to number our days, so we may gain a heart of wisdom.” The candles on the cake are Your gift, not something I deserve. Bless the person whose birthday this prayer is for. Hold them safe through the year ahead. Give them what they need, not always what they would have asked for, and the grace to see Your hand in both. Let the past year's regrets become honest learning, not shame. Let the year ahead bring joy that surprises them and strength for the hard days that will come. You know the ordinary days too, the quiet ones no one sees. Walk through every one of them with this person. The cake is sweet. The candles are bright. And the real wish of this prayer is made before You, the God who hears. Give them another year and the wisdom to use it well. Amen.
