Teens Prayer for December 30th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You said in Isaiah 43 that You are doing a new thing — making a way where there was no way, and bringing life to dry, stuck places. The new year is almost here. I have habits I keep failing to drop and things I keep meaning to start. But more than my list, I want what You are doing. The new thing is Yours to start, not mine. Help me cooperate with You instead of just trying harder on my own. Make a way in me where there has not been one. What You started in Isaiah was not a self-help plan. It was something You did for people who could not do it themselves. Let next year's growth be like that — started by You, joined by me, and held up by Your patience. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
