Teens Prayer for December 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, 2 Peter 3 says You are not slow to keep Your promise. You are patient, not wanting anyone to perish. That is why You are still giving people time. Including me. Including people I love who do not yet know You. Give me hope for them tonight. Give me hope for me. Your patience is the reason any of us are still here. It is not weakness. It is mercy, holding back what we deserve and giving us another chance. Help me trust Your timing with the people I love who are not where they need to be. The same patience that gave me time is being given to them. Let me pray for them instead of panicking about them. I trust You to do what I cannot. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
