Teens Prayer for December 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Galatians 6 says to "bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." There are people in my life carrying a lot right now. Some are grieving. Some have family stress. Some are sick. Some are worried about money. Make me a quiet help to one of them. Not a fixer. A burden-sharer. The law of Christ is not a checklist. It is a steady looking out for others, especially the ones it would be easier to look past. Help me be honest about where I am this week. Sometimes I am the one who needs help. Sometimes I am the one who can help. Either way, do the law of Christ in me as I am able. Most burdens get lighter when they are shared. Make me willing to share one, in either direction, this week. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
