Teens Prayer for December 25th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Luke 2 says, "today in the city of David a Savior has been born to You, who is Christ the Lord." Today. Born to You. Not in the abstract. To me.
Christmas is real this year because it was real that year. Let me celebrate quietly and clearly. The gifts, the meal, and the family stuff are good, but they are not the point.
The point is that Jesus came for me. For my specific year. For my specific mess. For my specific name. Thank You.
The good news of Christmas is a person, not an idea. The person came at a specific time, into a specific town, for specific people. I am one of those people. Let me receive that as personal today.
Amen.
