Teens Prayer for December 21st

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, in John 1, we read that the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw His glory. God in skin. Right now, the nights are long and dark. Help me see Your glory not in a perfect picture but in real life. In the friend who showed up. In the parent who was kind. In the kid who said the honest thing. That is glory in flesh. I see it all the time, but I do not always call it that. It still amazes me that You would take a body and come this close. I keep looking for fireworks. But Your glory is closer than that. It is ordinary and real, and it lasts. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray
