Teens Prayer for December 12th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Jesus said He is the light of the world, and that when we follow Him, we get the light of life. Help me follow Him today. Not in big showy ways. In real ones. In the next conversation I'm in. In the choice I have to make in the next hour. The light is not just a feeling. It is a path I take by deciding. Help me decide once today to go His way, even when I don't want to. Following Him is a lot of small turns. I can't follow Him in general. I have to follow Him in the specific thing right in front of me. That thing might be small. It might be inconvenient. It might be choosing not to laugh at the mean joke, or sitting with the person who has no one, or telling the truth when a lie would be easier. Help me notice that moment. Help me turn toward You in it. The light of life is real. The path is real. Set my next step on it. Amen.
