Teens Prayer for December 8th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, John 3:16 says, "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son." For You to give Your Son meant You thought we were worth it. I am part of that world. On the days I do not feel worth much, help me remember this line: You gave for me. Me, the actual one. Not some perfect version of me. Let me live this day like it is a day someone died to give me. You showed my value by what it cost You. Help me live like I believe that, even just a little. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
