Teens Prayer for December 5th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Luke 2, the angel told the shepherds, "Do not be afraid. I bring You good news of great joy for all people." The good news came to shepherds first. Night-shift workers. Regular people who were not expecting anything special. That is most of us. Let me hear the good news as still for me, not just for people who seem to have this Christmas season all together. For someone on a regular weeknight, homework half done, phone buzzing, too tired to focus. Good news for that person too. The angels did not go to the palace. They went to the fields. The good news has always been for tired, ordinary people, not just the impressive ones. I am one of the tired, ordinary ones. And the good news is for me. Amen.
