Teens Prayer for December 1st

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Isaiah 9 says that people walking in darkness have seen a great light. December is the dark month for a lot of us. The days are short. The nights are long. School is stressful. Family life is hard. The light Isaiah talks about is not the holiday lights. It is Jesus, breaking into the real dark. Let me see Him this December, not as decoration, but as the real reason this season is worth keeping. The dark is real. But the Light is stronger. Most of the lights I will see this month are pretty, but they fade. The Light Isaiah named is the real one. He is for the truly dark parts of my life, not just the parts that look fine on the outside. Show up in the dark places this month. Amen.
