Teens Prayer for November 3rd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Isaiah 26 says, "You keep in perfect peace the one whose mind stays on You, because he trusts in You." Stayed on You — fixed, not drifting. My mind drifts all the time. From worry to comparison to fantasy to plans right back to worry. Help me fix my mind on You. Not the whole day at once. Just thirty seconds at a time, over and over. The peace comes when I keep coming back. I cannot make that peace myself. It comes when my mind stays on You. Train me to come back to You again and again. Even the short returns throughout the day matter. Make me someone who comes back a lot. Most days, I am shocked at how fast my mind runs off to something dumb. Help me come back without shame. The point is not that I never wander. The point is that I come back. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
