Teens Prayer for November 2nd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says to give thanks in everything, because that is Your will for me in Christ Jesus. The "in everything" part is hard. I can thank You for the good stuff. But the hard stuff is different, the rejection, the closed door, the slow season. Help me thank You in those times, not because the hard thing is good, but because You are still with me. You are present even when life hurts, and Your presence is something worth thanking You for. You never ask me to pretend bad things are good. You ask me to keep thanking You even in the hard stretch. Teach me how to do that. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
