Teens Prayer for November 1st
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Hebrews 12 says we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, people who trusted You before us and who now cheer us on as we run. This is when I think most about people I miss, people who have died, people who showed me what faith looked like. I am not sure how much they see from where they are, but I hope my life would make them smile. Help me carry forward what they taught me. I do not need to copy their life. I need the same kind of faithfulness in mine. The verse calls them a cloud because there are so many of them. Aunts and grandparents who walked with You. People who died young and still trusted You. People who lived long and stayed faithful. They have finished their part of the race. I am running mine. Let me run it in a way that honors them and honors You. Amen.
