Teens Prayer for October 22nd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Proverbs 4 says to guard my heart with all diligence, because from it flow the springs of life. I do not really guard my heart. I let almost anything in. Videos. Opinions. Songs. Conversations. Then I wonder why I am restless. Some of what I am consuming is shaping me without me noticing. Show me one input I should cut down on. I am not asking You to make me abandon the world. Just help me be more careful at the front door. Whatever I let in will eventually come out. Guarding my heart is not about fear of the outside world. It is about how much my heart can take before it gets sick. I have been letting too much in for too long. Help me close one source this week and replace it with something quieter. A book. A walk. A quiet ten minutes that does not have to be productive. Amen.
