Teens Prayer for October 17th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 51 says, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me." David did not say "clean up." He said, "Create." He knew he could not make himself clean. Neither can I. I have tried to fix myself. It never lasts. Make in me what I cannot make in myself. A clean heart. A right spirit. Patience with the long process. Do what only You can do. You are the God who made something out of nothing. Make something new in me. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
