Teens Prayer for October 14th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Galatians 5 lists the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. I cannot grow nine fruits in one day. I can probably grow one a tiny bit. Pick one for me. Maybe patience this week. Patience with my mom in the morning. Patience with the friend who texts too much. Patience with myself. Slow growth is still growth. The fruit list is what You produce in me, not what I work up on my own. My job is to stay near the vine. Yours is the fruit. Help me remember that the patience I am asking for comes from time spent with You, not from trying harder by force. Amen.

How to pray it

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
