Teens Prayer for October 13th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Matthew 5 says to love my enemies and pray for those who hurt me. I do not have big enemies. I have the small kind, the people who annoy me, who said something mean, who took something from me. I am still mad about it. Praying for them feels harder than just ignoring them. But ignoring them keeps me stuck thinking about them. Praying for them helps me let go. Quiet me down long enough to actually do this. Bless them. Give them what they need. Help me stop carrying this weight. Let this prayer change my heart. Make it something I want to do, not just something I have to do. Some of these people will never know I prayed for them. That is okay. This prayer is for You and for me. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
