Teens Prayer for October 11th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 118 says, "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it." Today is not perfect. I am not even excited about it. Maybe I am tired. Maybe something is hard. But this is the day You made for me. Help me choose to rejoice, not the fake kind, but the real kind that comes from You. Help me start by deciding to receive this day rather than fight it. Most days do not look special, but every day is a gift if I take it that way. Teach me to rejoice, not because I feel like it, but because You are with me. Then help me try again tomorrow. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
