Teens Prayer for October 10th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 23 says, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." A shepherd walks slowly. Sheep cannot be rushed. Tonight, slow me down to a shepherd's pace. Tomorrow can wait. The list can wait. The people I owe a reply can wait. Bring me to a place inside where there is enough: enough food, enough quiet, enough love. Quiet the wanting in me for tonight. I still have desires, but they do not have to be frantic. Let me sleep in a body that has stopped reaching for the next thing. That is enough rest to build on. Amen.
