Teens Prayer for October 7th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You are the God of hope. You said that, as I believe, You would fill me with joy and peace until I overflow with hope. I don't always feel filled. But I don't have to feel it before I trust You. Trust comes first. Filling comes second. So today, help me trust You a little more than yesterday. Just a little. That's enough for the overflow to start. I'm taking one step of trust right now, even when I don't feel it, and I'm watching what You do. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
