Teens Prayer for September 23rd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 30 says, "weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning." I do not always feel that. Sometimes the night lasts way longer than one night. Some nights feel like months. But I want to believe the morning is still coming, even while it is still dark. Right now, the dark is real. I am not going to pretend it is not. The Bible never asks me to act like everything is fine. It asks me to remember that the dark is not the last word. You are still here in the dark room. Help me wait for the morning without faking that I am okay. I am not okay yet. But I am still here. And waiting on You, even when it is hard, is its own kind of faith. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
