Teens Prayer for September 18th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Romans 5 says suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. That is a long chain. I want to skip straight to hope. I cannot. I am stuck in the suffering part. You are not pulling me out. You are using it. Help me stay in it on purpose. Let it make me strong, not bitter. Quiet me when I want to quit. When I face stress at school, when friendships are hard, when I feel alone, remind me that hope is being made in me right now. There is no shortcut. Build in me now what I will need later. I will thank You for it. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
