Teens Prayer for September 3rd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says Your mercies are new every morning. That sounds nice on a coffee mug, but I need it today like medicine. I dragged a lot of yesterday into this morning, what I said, what I did not do, and who I disappointed. But I do not have to let yesterday decide how today goes. New mercies means I am allowed to start. Not pretending yesterday did not happen, just to actually start. Let me set yesterday down and walk into today differently. The mercy is real. I am going to act like it is. It is not a free pass for the bad parts of yesterday, but it means I do not have to live there forever. New morning, new mercies, the same God, a different day. That is enough to start with. Amen.
