Teens Prayer for August 31st

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You said in Isaiah 51 that we can trust Your arm. On the days I do not feel strong, and there are a lot of those, help me trust Your arm instead of trying to make my own strength. I do not have to be the strong one in my friend group. I do not have to be the strong one in my house. I can lean. That is not weakness. That is the whole point. Make this the month I stop carrying things I was not built to carry alone. The arm I am asked to trust is not just an idea. It is real. It is what made the world, held back the Red Sea, and raised Jesus. That arm can carry this week's load. Teach me to lean without being afraid to lean. Leaning is the right response to who You are. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
