Teens Prayer for August 30th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 27 says, "Wait on the Lord; be of good courage." I never thought that waiting and courage could go together. Waiting feels slow. Courage feels fast. But waiting on You on purpose is one of the brave things I can do. Help me not chase. Help me not panic-decide. Help me not stuff every empty minute just to feel busy. Make me courageously slow today. When I do not see the next step, help me trust that You are still moving. I do not have to force my own way to please You. There is real strength in slowing down and listening. Teach me to wait well. Slow me down enough to actually hear You. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
