Teens Prayer for August 29th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, David prayed in Psalm 51, "Have mercy on me, O God." He had done something terrible, and he did not try to cover it up. He just asked for mercy. I have not failed like David did this week, but there are things I have done that I would rather not talk about. Let me not brush them off. I need Your mercy for them too. Forgive me. Wash me clean. I do not want to hide from You or from what I have done. Then send me back into this day a little softer toward people who mess up. When I receive Your mercy, let it change how I treat others. Let me be quick to show grace, not quick to hide. David did not stay in Psalm 51 forever. He got back up. He led. He wrote songs. He kept walking with You. Mercy was not the end for him. It was the door back in. Let it be the door back in for me, too. Amen.
