Teens Prayer for August 23rd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You promised that one day You will wipe every tear away and there will be no more crying. I cannot fully picture that yet. This week, I have been crying in the car after school. So have a lot of my friends. The pain does not have to last forever. Knowing that does not make today hurt any less, but it shows me that an end is coming. Help me cry honestly when I need to, and not try to skip the sadness. And help me also remember the future You promised, where it all ends. Both are true at the same time. The Bible never tells me to pretend grief is not real; it tells me grief has a last page because of Jesus. Let that last page be a strong enough hope to walk by, even when my eyes are still wet. I am not past the grief yet, but I am not crushed by it either, because You are not done. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
