Teens Prayer for August 17th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Psalm 52 says I can be like a green olive tree in Your house. Slow. Planted. Full of fruit in time. That is what I want. Not the loud life. Just a quiet one that grows where You are.
Most days, I feel un-planted. I hover between groups. Between who I am at school and who I am at church. Between different versions of myself. It is tiring.
Plant me. Not into a brand. Into You. Let me grow slow and steady where Your name is honored. That is the kind of teenager I want to become.
Olive trees take years to fruit. But they last for centuries. The slow ones outlast the fast ones. Make me a slow one.
Amen.
