Teens Prayer for August 15th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Genesis 24 says Isaac went out to think and pray in the field in the evening. He took a walk. He did not check his phone first. He just walked and thought about You. I am bad at that. The minute I have downtime, I fill it with something. Tonight, let me have one phone-free fifteen minutes. Walk if I can, sit if I cannot. Help me be quiet enough to notice what is going on inside me. I have been louder than my own heart for weeks. Let me lower the volume and listen to what You are saying under it. Isaac was in the field thinking about his future. I think about mine too. School. Friends. What comes next? Help me think about it slowly with You instead of fast and alone with the algorithm. Teach me to wait on You instead of rushing ahead. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
