Teens Prayer for August 12th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Psalm 97 says, “The Lord reigns; let the earth rejoice.” Today, my piece of the earth is small. It is one notebook, one room, one set of conversations. But it is still the earth, and You still reign over it. Help me bring a quiet kind of joy into ordinary places. Help me greet my mom well in the morning. Help me treat someone who annoys me with kindness. Help me start the first hard task instead of putting it off later. Joy that does not need a show. Joy because You are King even of my Tuesday. Sometimes I think Your rule only belongs in big moments. But You are Lord over every part of my day, even the desk I will sit at soon. Help me live like I belong to Your kingdom, even when the work in front of me is plain. Amen.
