Teens Prayer for August 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Revelation 21 says the city has no need of the sun or the moon because You are the light. There are seasons when the things that usually feel like light go dim. Friends move. The class that used to be easy gets hard. The thing I was excited about does not feel exciting anymore. Be my steady light when the regular lights dim. Show me that my deepest light comes from You, not my circumstances. I do not need everything working at once. I need You. Make that the foundation under everything I trust. When my outside lights change, teach me how to walk by Your light. That training is uncomfortable, and I am tired. But teach me anyway. I would rather learn to walk by Your light now than have to learn it later. Amen.

- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
