Teens Prayer for August 3rd

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Revelation 21 says the city of God does not need a sun, because Jesus is its light. I cannot really picture that. But I do not need to picture it perfectly. I just need to remember that what is coming is more real than what I am living through right now. The stress about college, the friend group drama, the worry about the future, none of that is the end of the story. Make me hopeful without making me checked out. Let me live this week well because I know You are making all things new. Help me be kind to the people at school. Help me show up for my family. Help me make choices that matter, because they do. That is not escapism. That is fuel. Let the light of what You have promised reach into today and change how I live it. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
