Teens Prayer for July 24th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, in Exodus 14, Your people were trapped between the sea and the Egyptians. Moses told them to stand still and watch You save them. I am bad at standing still. When I am scared, I move. I scroll, I message, I check, I plan, I try to take control. Help me do the harder thing, to wait. Not to do nothing forever, but not to act out of panic in the next ten minutes. You will make a way, even if it is not the way I expect. My frantic grabbing will not speed it up. Quiet my hands. Let me be still long enough to hear what You are actually saying, instead of what my fear is shouting. Most of the bad choices I have made were made fast. Most of the good ones came after I stopped reaching for the next thing. Make me a more still person today. Amen.
