Teens Prayer for July 21st

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, there are things in my life that feel way too big. The pressure to fit in. The opinion that makes me afraid. The rejection I keep thinking about. But they are not bigger than You. You are bigger than Assyria. You are bigger than my school. You are bigger than the algorithm. Help me stop treating these things like they deserve my worship. They do not. You are the only One who does. I am not asking to be rude or mean. I am asking for a quiet backbone inside me. Help me see that fear makes threats look bigger than they are. And the right view of You makes them small. Make me act like I really believe that. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
