Teens Prayer for July 20th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Ephesians 1 calls the Holy Spirit the deposit, the down payment on what You will finish later. That helps me. The Christian life I have right now is not the finished version. It is the first cut of a sculpture. Sometimes that is discouraging. I am not who I want to be yet, and the gap feels heavy. But a deposit is a real promise. You already paid in. You will not abandon what You started. When I feel like I am barely Christian today, let me remember I am not the finished sculpture yet. The same hands that started will finish. Help me trust that the gap between who I am and who I want to be is not a sign that nothing is happening. It is the space where Your work is still being done. Be patient with me while You keep working. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
