Teens Prayer for July 8th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, there are things in my life that keep pulling at me, asking the same question over and over, and I keep getting closer to giving in. I know what some of mine are. The endless scroll. The friend who only ever drags me lower. The conversation I should not be having. The thought I keep entertaining. I am not at the breaking point yet, but I do not want to wait until I am. You see what is quietly weakening me right now. Show me what it is. Give me the honesty to name it out loud, at least to You, and the small first step out. I do not want to wake up one day and find out I lost something I cannot get back. Strength built slowly can be lost slowly, too. Catch me early, before I give it all away. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
