Teens Prayer for July 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, in Romans 1, Paul calls regular people 'saints.' That word used to feel like it belonged in a church window, not in my life. But it just means people You set apart. Not because they are impressive, but because they belong to You. That is the part I am holding onto today. I am Yours. I do not have to be a Bible expert or perfectly strong or always happy to be that. I just have to keep choosing You out loud. I am not bringing You a cleaned-up version of myself. I am bringing You the real one, distracted, half-tired, kind of awkward in prayer. Use this anyway. Make my ordinary day, my homework, my lunch table, my walk to class, something that is on Your side. Being Yours is not for people who feel good enough. It is for people who keep showing up, even on the days they do not feel like it. Count me in. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

  1. But arise, and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose: to appoint you a servant and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will reveal to you;
