Teens Prayer for July 2nd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, my heart does not feel like rejoicing right now. I am tired and kind of bored, and the group chat is annoying. Psalm 33 says my heart will rejoice in You, but mine just sits there. I am not going to fake it. I am not going to pretend that how I feel right now is the only true thing about me. Help me remember that joy is like a long river, not a quick spark. It is fed by what I keep coming back to. Keep me coming back to You even when I do not feel excited. Let me trust that gladness can be built for real, not just performed. Give me one true thing to thank You for today, not a long list to show off. Help me sit with my own life for a minute instead of running from it. I have been running for a while, and I am tired. Slow me down into Your kind of joy, the kind that does not need an interesting day. Amen.
