Teens Prayer for June 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the summer ahead looks long and a little hopeless, and I am not sure why. Your Word says Jesus is the One who starts and finishes our faith. That means the faith has a beginning and an ending, and neither one is up to me. So this long summer does not have to rest on my shoulders to matter. It can just be the summer. Some of it will be good, some boring, some painful. All of it is held by You. The hope You ask from me is not the hope that everything goes my way. It is the hope that You are bringing this whole story to a real ending I cannot yet see. Help me keep doing the next right thing in the meantime — rest, work, family, friends, the next page, the next prayer. Steady my next step. Carry me through. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
