A prayer to pray now
Father, I do not feel any warmth toward You today. I think I am supposed to fake it. But 1 John 4:19 says we love You because You first loved us. The warmth starts on Your side, not mine. I do not need to make it up. I just need to act like someone who is loved. So tonight I will do the kind thing for someone I live with, even when I do not feel like it. I will stay patient with the person who keeps asking me the same thing. I will reply to the friend who is waiting on me. Let my actions be love, even while my feelings catch up. The warmth may come back, or it may not. Either way, the actions count. Please move my heart when it is ready. Amen.
