Teens Prayer for June 9th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I sat down to read the Bible and checked my phone three times before I even got started. You told us to search the Scriptures because they point to You. Even that word 'search' sounds messy. Even the people who read the Bible when Jesus walked the earth missed what was right in front of them. So my distracted reading does not disqualify me. Use it anyway. Use the two sentences I actually remember. Use my wandering attention. Your Spirit can take my ordinary focus and make it matter in ways I cannot plan on my own. Tomorrow I will sit in the same chair and read the same chapter with the same scrambled brain. I am not going to quit on this just because I am not good at it yet. This relationship is held by You, not by how well I pay attention. Help me come back tomorrow without making it into something bigger than it is.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
