Teens Prayer for June 8th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I am tired of pretending I see a breakthrough coming. Your word says Your hand is not too short. You will do what You promised. That is true even when this week feels slow. Both can be true at the same time. Keep me doing the small obediences anyway. Wake up. Eat. Reply to the friend. Read the chapter. Sleep. None of it looks like a big change. All of it is part of the longer story You are writing. Hope is not me feeling cheerful right now. It is me believing this week is not the whole story, even when I cannot see anything else from inside it. Give me stamina for tomorrow morning. Carry me into whatever is next, even if next is just another slow, ordinary day. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
