Teens Prayer for May 21st
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, there are parts of me I do not want anyone to know about. Your Word says I can taste and see that You are good. If that is true, then I do not have to hide the worst of me because I am afraid of being unloved. Help me believe that. Not by forcing it. Just by letting it be true. Tonight I do not have to confess to a friend in some big dramatic way. I just have to admit here in this prayer the thing I have been hiding from myself. The petty jealousy I keep holding onto. The small lies I keep adding to my stories. The way I look at people who get on my nerves. None of it shocks You. None of it disqualifies me. I am tired of trying to keep up a fake version of who I am. I want to be changed for real. Slowly. With patience. Receive me back. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
