Teens Prayer for May 16th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You are the living God who gives us good things to enjoy. Today, I did not stop to notice some of them. The lunchroom was sunny. The new song really was as good as my friend said it was. My brother told a stupid joke, and it actually made me laugh. Thank You for those. Today I was also unfair to my mom in front of my sister. I am sorry. Tomorrow morning, I will tell her I am sorry, not as a big deal, just because she deserves to hear it. Help me close my eyes now. Let the morning come with mercy I do not have to earn. Amen.

How to pray it

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

  1. Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;
